Job Description Vaco has been engaged to identify a Part Time Bookkeeper for a high end retail company, headquartered in Birmingham. The Bookkeeper will report to the president and owner and will perform general accounting and record keeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly closing and prepare various reports. This company has very low turnover and prides itself on being a mid-sized company with a small-company, family-oriented mindset. Responsibilities will include:Accounts Payable / A/PPay bills and maintain ledgersCode payables and input into QuickBooks (or other formats)Monitor cash flowUtilize online bill payWork with external CPA firmAccounts Receivable / A/RGenerate invoicesPrepare estimates and progress billings on catered functionsMonitor A/R account, ensuring timely paymentMoney-Handling & BankingPrepare bank deposits and enter daily cash receiptsReconcile bank accountMonitor office expendituresFinancialPrepare monthly reports to President and managementEnsure monthly Sales and Use Tax is paid timelyRequirements for this position:Minimum of 5 years' experience in a progressive accounting/bookkeeping roleExtensive Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledgeKnowledge of financial statement preparationAbility to work with a wide variety of personalities and the ability to shift gears with easeONLY CANDIDATES WITH REQUIRED EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED.
