This role will report to the VP, FP&A. This role will be responsible for the Company's capital planning and analysis. The purpose of this role is to enhance our capabilities to support our capital allocation strategy and supporting our projection and analysis needs.This role would also be a key member of the FP&A team and help the team to bring clarity and focus to senior management and the board. The FP&A team manages certain financial processes including the preparation of our quarterly analysis of results, financial planning, budgeting and strategic planning, as well as management and board reporting. The role will work closely and collaboratively with numerous areas including asset liability management, treasury, finance, accounting, operations, ERM, and valuation.

Capital Planning and Analysiso Lead the capital planning discipline of the FP&A team which is expected to provide management an understanding of the key drivers of capital and how our business plans impact our future capital flowso This role will expected to contribute and potentially lead initiatives that improve our overall capital efficiency including, but not limited to, internal and external reinsurance (including primary lead for utilizing PLRE)o Lead the pricing of future PLRE cessions and lead coordination across the various functions necessary to facilitate a cessiono Be a key contributor to the Capital Management Committee by helping the committee understand and make decisions around intragroup capital flows o Coordinate, manage and communicate analysis of the Company's capital position including historical trends and projectionso Enhance and maintain our short and long-term projections of capital and RBCo Help management understand the impact our decisions have on our short and long-term capital projectionsRecommend capital flows among subsidiaries to the Capital Management CommitteeQualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Degree in actuarial science, finance or related field
  • FSA required, possible consideration for CFA
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the life insurance industry preferred
  • Experience analyzing statutory capital and RBC in the life insurance industry
  • Strong excel and data management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to solve problems
  • Understanding of Life and Annuity actuarial concepts
  • Ability to lead a team in the midst of change and uncertainty
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to obtain information, build consensus and deliver results
