Administrative AssistantDescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Administrative Assistant will provide direct assistance to the Marketing Director. This position will act as a point of contact for internal and external parties. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to build relationships with executives, managers, and employees at all levels are key components to success in this role. In the course of work, the Administrative Assistant will be engaged in highly sensitive and confidential matters, therefore, integrity and trustworthiness are key essential characteristics of any potential candidate.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* Serves as the primary support for Marketing Director, managing their complex calendar, confidential calls and sensitive information

* Supports department with on and off-site meetings, conference calls, travel arrangements, editing/formatting presentations and spreadsheets, and interview preparations

* Responsible for journal entries, expense reporting, check requests, purchase orders and time keeping for both APC and SCS employees

* Regularly corresponds and sets up meetings with executive level management across Southern Company, while working around extensive schedules and activities

* Orders and maintains office supplies and submits facilities work orders when needed

* Understands general accounting processes and POET departmental coding

* Demonstrates good time management skills, willing to work with others and/or taking on additional responsibilities to meet critical deadlines

* Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation* High school diploma required

* Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)* Strong time management, judgment, prioritization and discretionary abilities

* Strong teamwork and a track record of cordial and professional interaction with others

* Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with all levels of management, peers, contractors, and internal/external stakeholders, customers and suppliers is required

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required

* Knowledge of computer and software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests simultaneously

* Ability to work in a team environment with diverse disciplines and backgrounds

* Team Player with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service

* Self-motivated in job responsibilities and personal development

* Proactive and able to figure things out and act with a sense of urgency
