Job Description:
Waste Connections, a leader in integrated waste services, is
seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. In this
role, you will operate various types of heavy equipment used in the
collection and disposal of residential, commercial, and industrial
waste, contributing to our commitment to making the environment
safe, clean, and sustainable. With a focus on safety, efficiency,
and environmental responsibility, the Equipment Operator is
essential to our daily operations and community service. Operate
heavy machinery such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, grapple
trucks, and other equipment related to waste management operations.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment before
use. Collaborate with other team members to ensure waste is
processed efficiently and in compliance with government regulations
and company standards. Attend and participate in safety meetings
and training. Report any necessary repairs or malfunctions to the
maintenance team. Maintain logs of equipment usage and maintenance
for compliance and review. Ability to operate various types of
heavy equipment safely and competently. Strong understanding of
mechanical systems and maintenance practices. Effective
communication skills for interacting with team members and
management. Ability to read and understand operation manuals,
safety rules, and job orders. Problem-solving skills to identify
and resolve issues in the field quickly. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL) A or B with no major violations. OSHA Safety
Certification is preferred but not required.
