Samford University's Orlean Beeson School of Education invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to submit applications for a full-time Mathematics Education faculty position in the Departments of Teacher Education and Curriculum and Instruction at the assistant professor level with an expected begin date of August 2019. The position is a nine-month, tenure-track position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching courses each academic semester in graduate and undergraduate programs in secondary education and providing program leadership. The faculty member is expected to work as a colleague with faculty and staff in the school, participate and lead in course and curriculum changes, serve as a mentor to students, and recruit and recommend admission for prospective graduate students as assigned. The individual is expected to participate fully in scholarship, service to the profession, school, university, and community, as well as collaboration with K-12 schools. Qualified candidates will be graduates of an accredited school with an earned doctoral degree in mathematics education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. The candidates should have K-12 teaching experience. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in teaching the continuum of Mathematics from PK through the graduate level, possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, organizational skills, and the ability to provide leadership as a faculty member. A commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and colleagues is expected. Online experience is also preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
