LEAD PROJECT ENGINEERNew Flyer is North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader with various locations in North America. - Offering the most advanced product line under the Xcelsior - and Xcelsior CHARGE--- brands. Further information is available at . -POSITION SUMMARY: -As a key member of our Engineering team, you will provide leadership and project management to all Engineering Groups as they proceed through the NFI Pre-Production and/or Build Processes. You will ensure that the engineering deliverables for the specified are delivered on-time and meet and/or exceed customer requirements and expectations at all points in the product life-cycle. -WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Work with the customer and various departments to fully understand the specification and key requirements. Identify and mitigate risk in the products design or process.
  • Oversee the development and execution of project deliverables and timing. -
  • Lead system integration reviews, virtual bus reviews and FMEAs with Engineering, Production, Service and Vendors.
  • Oversee signoff of requirements, vendor approvals, testing and support customer configuration audits.
  • Work with the Service Managers and /or the production facility to expedite problem solving and subsequent engineering releases related to the Pilot buses.
  • Act as designated Engineering liaison and facilitate communication between Engineering and the users of engineering information. -WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: -
    • Post-secondary Engineering education in Mechanical or Electrical, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience will be considered -
    • Five or more years of relevant experience related to essential functions listed above
    • Proven leadership experience -
    • Experience using CAD systems and MPP databases
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective interpersonal skills
    • Project Management /PMP is an asset
    • Adept with Microsoft Office
    • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
    • Ability to find solutions to problems using creativity, critical thinking and reasoning. -
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast-paced team-oriented environment -
