successful candidate will:* Review design/construction drawings for
compression facilities including PFDs, PIDs, and mechanical layout
and sectional drawings.* Review OEM drawings for compression
equipment. Specifically design maps, operating conditions,
efficiencies, maintenance/auxiliary
equipment requirements, etc.* Size rotating equipment, heat
exchangers, process piping, control valves, overpressure protection
devices, and filtration equipment.* Utilize compressor modeling
software to predict station pressures, flow rates and temperatures
based on selected horsepower.* Support Operations personnel in
maintenance work and the troubleshooting of issues at compression
facilities. Specifically be able to identify and address equipment
caused vibration issues, including mechanical resonances, torsional
response, acoustic resonances, etc.*Support emissions group on gas
turbine and/or reciprocating engine emissions testing and
issues.*Be accountable for completing quality work on schedule and
in compliance with applicable codes/standards.* Effectively
interface and integrate with other Company departments including
Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Development,
and Operations to maintain the integrity of the Company's
infrastructure at a variety of compressor stations across the
country. Compressor stations will include low-speed integral
engines, engine-driven and/or motor-driven high-speed separable
reciprocating compressors, motor-driven centrifugal compressors,
and gas turbine-driven centrifugal compressors.* Represent the
Company in rotating equipment design with customers, suppliers,
licensees, third party engineering firms, outside consultants, and
industry associations. Including PHA meetings, PSSR start-up and
commissioning tasks at compressor stations, and root-cause failure
investigations.* Interface with other technical/engineering
disciplines to ensure the effective integration of the rotating
equipment within the overall facility design.* Plan, schedule, and
coordinate detailed phases of engineering work while supporting the
department and Project Manager with deliverables.* Assist with the
commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in the
field.* Provide compressor related field training as necessary
including major compressor and engine software packages, vibration
analyzer equipment and performance testing.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements: * Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
(mechanical preferred) from an accredited school of engineering.* 5
years of natural gas pipeline compressor and/or engine experience*
Ability to take initiative and work with both company and
non-company personnel to accomplish goals in a fast paced
environment.* Proclivity to engage operations and project
management personnel in productive meetings to determine the best
solutions for company.* Proficient PC-based skills including MS
Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access)*
Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and
mechanical drawings and diagrams, including flow charts,
cause/effect diagrams,and Piping and Instrumentation Drawings
(P&ID's)* Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
to address complex technical matters.* Ability to create technical
specifications, Engineering Standards, Construction Standards,
O&M Standards and department best practicedocuments.* Working
knowledge of natural gas industry standards and rules such as (AGA,
ASME, API, GPA, DOT 49 CFR 192, PHMSA, etc.).Ability to perform job
responsibilities with minimal guidance or supervision.* Ability to
prepare and coordinate engineering reports, calculations, studies,
and presentations.* U.S. Citizenship or Green card.* Valid driver's
license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company.* Travel
(-25%).Preferred:* Working knowledge of natural gas transmission
pipeline operation compressor station design.
* Extensive understanding of gas transmission compression equipment
(operation, sizing, selection, function, maintenance).
* Experience with Solar Gas Turbines
* Experience with Ariel Compressors
* Experience with Caterpillar Natural Gas Engines
* Experience with Waukesha Natural Gas Engines
Note: Position level, job title and pay will be determined by
candidates' level of experience and skill.
