unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people
living and working in space, we are building the sustainable
infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to
the Lunar Surface.As part of a hardworking team of diverse
specialists, technicians, and engineers the candidate applies
standard engineering techniques to design, install, modify,
analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other
mechanically functioning equipment. Development, release, and
support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to
support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and
operations. Implements operating procedures, resolves system
malfunctions, and provide technical information. Researches and
analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and
other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance
requirements of designs or applications. Specifies system
components or directs modification of products to ensure
conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty
operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance
crew.Specifically, you will share in the team's impact on all
aspects of designing, building, testing and flying Environmental
Control and Life Support (ECLS) flight hardware. The ECLS System is
composed of the essential hardware to allow humans to safely
inhabit space. ECLSS circulates air around the vehicle picking up
carbon dioxide, humidity and trace contaminants to be scrubbed and
provides oxygen for breathing. The internal cabin pressure is
maintained and monitored. Clean drinking water is provided to the
crew. The ECLS system also monitors air quality as well as
emergencies such as rapid depressurization and fire and counteracts
them.Special Mentions

- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and lead the Ventilation and Atmosphere Revitalization fan
assemblies and interfaces through the entire life cycle:
Conception, Design, Build, Test, Install and Operations
- Derive functional and performance requirements, and specify
hardware
- Perform system calculations and basic analyses
- Design and integrate the fan assemblies and acoustics into ECLS
systems
- Define and maintain interfaces and the schematics
- Support manufacturing engineers in fabrication and assembly
planning of hardware
- Provide technical and program guidance to solve problems with
the help of your team
- Be actively involved in development testing of your
hardware
- Lead a multi-discipline product team
- Determine and manage schedule and budget for owned
hardware
- Show system and component compliance to Blue and NASA technical
requirements
- Be the technical point of contact for your hardware
- Participate in the supplier selection process of
components
- Adhere to Blue Leadership PrinciplesMinimum Qualifications
- BS in related engineering field
- Experience in one or more areas of the product life cycle
- Experience leading small technical teams
- 3+ years experience with development of fans, blowers,
controllers and/or acoustics control
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Creo
- 6+ years experience with fans and/or blowers and
controllers
- Experience with small project management
- Worked on a crewed spaceflight program
- Experience working with suppliers during the development of the
hardwareCompensation range for on site WA applicants is
