Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Principal
Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL. Position
Overview: The selected Sr. Principal Systems Engineer
responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons
System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Systems
Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product. This
role is responsible for developing and assisting in the
requirements process that directly supports the design and
development of GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense
Agency (MDA). The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced
work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse
assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience
levels. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an
accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a
Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or 4
years of experience with a PhD in STEM. Must have a solid
understanding of system engineering processes and principles, along
with proven experience in applying them to develop product
solutions. Must have experience with SW development and the
verification of requirements. Must have experience with DOORS,
Cameo, and MBSE. Previous experience working on a large-scale
missile defense system like GMD. Applicants must possess good
communication skills. Applicants must demonstrate ability to think
critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations,
and discussions. Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area
work environment. Applicants must have a current active in-scope
DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application,
which is required to start. Ability and willingness to travel up to
10% of the time to support business needs. Preferred
Qualifications: Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics. Battle
Management or Fire Control experience. MBSE or INCOSE
Certifications. Experience developing System Engineer artifacts,
including specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases,
System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and similar
documents. Primary Level Salary Range: $138,500.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health
