Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking applicants for a
position supporting an NG funded Independent Research and
Development (IRAD) activity to develop a generic next generation
Fire Control software product in Huntsville, Alabama. This program
has very aggressive milestones and goals and as such is a very fast
paced high performance work environment. The work is performed
according to an Agile Work paradigm. This position is on-site and
will fulfill the role of Staff Systems Engineer. Description: This
position will involve the development and prototyping of algorithms
involved in fire control and battle management and the assessment
of the performance and behavior of them in various threat
environments. It will also involve leadership of small technical
teams in these efforts. Basic Qualifications: Staff Systems
Engineer requires 14 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s
degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
discipline; 12 Years with Master’s degree; 9 Years with PhD.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: data
analysis, performance analysis, and physics/Mathematics-based
algorithm development Ability to communicate technical information
clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel Technical
team leadership experience Proven ability to decompose large tasks
into smaller ones, assign them to performers monitor and coach
progress High proficiency in technical problem solving Knowledge of
MATLAB, Python or similar engineering tools used in prototyping
complex algorithms Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration
skills Proven track record of successfully integrating problem
solutions into a larger system Extensive background in at least one
of the following: Ballistic Missile Defense, midcourse missile
defense, battle management, threat processing, weapon target
assignment, target object map population Capable of performing
assigned tasks with very little or no direction Well-developed
skills in critical thinking and paying attention to detail Active
Secret clearance required Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree
(MS or PhD) in Math, Physics, or Engineering discipline General
understanding of any or all of the following algorithm domains:
track processing, track reporting, discrimination, sensor resource
management, resource utilization optimization, battlespace analysis
Experience applying advanced mathematical concepts (Numerical
Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability/Statistics) to complex
problems and solutions Experience developing algorithms in a MATLAB
environment Experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and
PYTHON Successful performance of root cause analysis of large
complex software systems Capability to read and understand C++

$169,000.00 - $253,600.00 The above salary range represents a
general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of
factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
