Job Description:
Corvid Technologies is seeking qualified candidates to join our
Missile Defense Group (MDG) in Huntsville, Alabama. Come join the
MDG supporting a variety of government agencies, such as the
Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA), Navy Missile Defense, and Air Force Space Command.
The MDG performs cutting edge modeling and simulation, testing, and
system analysis to ensure protection of the United States and
military assets from missile threats. Corvid’s missile defense
analysts develop and apply advanced computational algorithms, such
as machine learning, to improve weapon system performance. Our
analysts have access to a high-performance computing facility, with
over 50,000 CPUs, where they execute first-principle physics codes
to produce high-fidelity predictions of lethality outcomes from
engagements, post-intercept debris characteristics, aerodynamic
effects and trajectories, and electromagnetic signatures. Using
these computational tools, we simulate the response and improve
operating concepts for radar and optical sensors. The Missile
Defense Group supports a variety of modeling and simulation efforts
within the Missile Defense Agency including missile intercept
modeling using first-principle physics codes, aerodynamic modeling
of missiles and debris, development of finite element models,
modeling of missile defense radars, modeling of missile defense
interceptor seekers, and analysis of sensor data (RF and EO/IR).
The group provides diverse research opportunities and a creative
work environment within a small group. The Corvid team offers
access to cutting edge computational technologies and resources.
Education and Technical Skill Required Entry level applicants
should have an excellent academic record with a Bachelor’s degree
or Master’s degree in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering,
computer science or material science with computer modeling and
simulation interests. A strong background in statistics, machine
learning, and uncertainty quantification is a plus. All candidates
should be self-motivated and show excellent written and oral
communication skills US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a
U.S. security clearance is required. NON-US Citizens cannot be
considered. Example Responsibilities Analysis of system performance
based on missile engagement using computational statistical
analysis Evaluation and optimization of algorithms for sensors
functions Generation of sensor signatures to simulate Monte Carlo
simulations Testing prototype software to identify improvements,
bugs, and deficiencies Why Corvid? Founded in 2004, we are a group
of over 300 engineers and scientists, about 3/4 with master’
degrees or Ph.D.'s, that provide end-to-end solutions including
concept development, design and optimization, prototype build, test
and manufacture. We leverage the predictive capability of our
high-fidelity computational physics solvers, indigenous massively
parallel supercomputer system, prototyping plant, and ballistics
and mechanics lab to investigate a variety of high-rate physics
phenomena. The results are complex engineering solutions for a
variety of applications; aircraft, ballistic missile defense,
cybersecurity, motorsports, armor development, biological systems,
and missile and warhead design and development. These results are
achieved with optimal design and cost efficiency due to the
predictive capability of Corvid’s tools and our in-house,
end-to-end integrated approach, which differentiates Corvid from
the market. We value our people and offer employees a broad range
of benefits. Benefits for full-time employees include: Paid gym
membership Flexible schedules Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance
including Medical, Dental and Vision 401k match up to 6% Three
weeks starting PTO; increasing with tenure Continued education and
training opportunities Uncapped incentive opportunities. All
qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment
without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation,
gender identity, national origin, age, disability or protected
veteran status, or any other legally protected basis, in accordance
with applicable law.
