Job Description:
Koch Foods is seeking a highly skilled Ammonia Refrigeration
Technician to join our Technical & Maintenance team. As a key
player in the poultry processing industry, Koch Foods strives for
excellence in maintaining our state-of-the-art refrigeration
systems essential for product quality and safety. In this role, you
will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of
ammonia-based refrigeration systems across our facilities. Your
expertise will ensure efficient operation and compliance with all
safety and environmental regulations. Perform routine and emergency
maintenance on ammonia refrigeration equipment. Monitor system
performance and adjust settings to ensure efficient operation and
energy use. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems
in refrigeration systems. Maintain detailed records of inspections,
maintenance routines, and repairs. Assist in the implementation of
new refrigeration technology and system upgrades. Ensure compliance
with local, state, and federal regulations, including Process
Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP). Conduct
regular safety audits and participate in training sessions to stay
current with industry standards and technology. Strong knowledge of
ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers,
and evaporators. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and
technical schematics. Proficiency with diagnostic and repair tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong
communication and teamwork abilities. Capability to work in
physically demanding environments. Universal EPA Section 608
Certification RETA certification (Refrigerating Engineers and
Technicians Association) is a plus.
