The Director of Professional Outreach is responsible for developing and retaining referrals from market physicians and referral sources for primary service lines. Qualified candidates will have broad familiarity with hospital operations, medical terminology, and industry language and roles. They will facilitate the retention of physician relationships, growth of new service line business, and other hospital-specific sales responsibilities as an extension of Grandview leadership. Grandview Medical Center Provider Relations Team members are responsible for business development and issue resolution with hundreds of physicians, EMS providers, hospitals, and post-care providers throughout the Central Alabama. They consult with not only physicians but also the Grandview executive administrative team and play a vital role in developing physician relationships within the community. They are viewed as an extension of hospital leadership, and success with this team is a strong foundation to a very successful Grandview career path. The Director of Professional Outreach is responsible for developing and retaining referrals from market physicians and referral sources for primary service lines. Qualified candidates will have broad familiarity with hospital operations, medical terminology, and industry language and roles. They will facilitate the retention of physician relationships, growth of new service line business, and other hospital-specific sales responsibilities as an extension of Grandview leadership. Some Essential Duties to Include:

• In collaboration with the Grandview executive team; evaluate, analyze, and interpret current physician referral patterns and trends, in addition to financial margins, for market facilities' service lines, ensuring that sales resources are optimized
• In collaboration with facility clinical leaders, Grandview's executive team, and Medical Staff leadership, develop sales and retention strategies for target markets and facility service lines-- Some Required Competencies but not limited to:
  • Ability to research, understand, and explain healthcare service volumes, utilization, and market data Ability to utilize technology to analyze databases and generate ad hoc reports to drive business decisions
    • Ability to access, understand, and explain physician and key non-physician referral patterns Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or public health administration from an accredited college or university is required. Master's degree in Health Administration, Business, or Economics preferred. Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare sales experience or transferrable / related business sales experience. Grandview Medical Center, a 422-bed regional referral center and tertiary-care facility, is located in Birmingham, AL., and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
