Title School of Medicine-Director of Practice Innovation and Transformation - Family & Community Medicine Assignment Category Full-Time Rank Open Rank Payroll Status Faculty 12 Job Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking to hire an energetic faculty member for position of Director of Practice Innovation and Transformation. Our department is committed to continuous improvement in patient care, education, research, and service. We are actively searching for an individual who will focus on leading the department in initiatives centered on improved delivery of health care, scholarly study of health care delivery, and achievement of high-quality value-based care. Specifically, this individual will be involved in leading the following efforts: --- Developing an Office of Practice Innovation and Transformation that will keep the department at the cutting edge of national trends in primary care.
--- Maintaining current knowledge of the latest technology related to health care in outpatient primary care settings.
--- Maintaining quality and performance metrics related to clinical care within the department.
--- Forming partnerships with external companies and organizations to improve patient care.
--- Identifying and contributing to ways for the department to develop a national reputation for innovative value-based healthcare models.
--- Facilitating a departmental culture focused on teamwork, curiosity, constant improvement, and the promotion of diversity and inclusion. Consideration will be given to board-certified MD, DO, or PhD for a full-time or part-time position. Position is a twelve-month, non-tenure earning faculty position. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
