Role description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our Highways Consultancy teams. This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work on a range of complex highways projects, while offering them the opportunity to progress their career with a sector leading consultancy. By joining our team, we will make sure you get the experience and personalised learning support you need to take your career as far as you want it to go. - We are seeking to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager with proven experience in civil engineering to support the Highways Consultancy team. It is intended that the role will offer the opportunity to progress your career as your experience grows within our business. - Our team is involved in managing some of the country's most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of such schemes working with our clients locally. Role accountabilities: Following our recent success in securing new work, -we are seeking to grow our team of experienced Commercial Managers. The ideal candidate should have excellent knowledge of infrastructure projects and in particular highways schemes, including using the NEC / ECC form of contract. The successful candidate will report to an Associate Commercial Director and will be responsible for leading the development of mini tenders and depending on the nature of the commission, managing service delivery. Abilities:

  • Lead the development of bid winning mini tender responses.
  • Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to enable projects to progress without delay, ensuring that all reasonable requests are met in a timely efficient manner.
  • Preparation and verification of pricing models from first principals for projects of moderate complexity, and can obtain, extract and use existing pricing methods to value schemes.
  • Working with clients and team members to support the preparation of tender and contract documents and procurement processes.
  • Interfaces with the programme manager, project managers and planners to deliver professional and competent advice and support, to ensure that projects are managed in accordance with the contract and meeting the required reporting deadlines.
  • Manage a programme of current workload in order that all commissions receive the relevant allocation of resource to deliver them efficiently.
  • Assess contractor applications, making recommendations, raising payment certificates, and preparing general correspondence on behalf of the project manager.
  • Follow contract risk management and processes to support the project manager, client and wider project team in necessary change and commercial aspects of project delivery.
  • Helping to identify and secure further work opportunities for Arcadis.
  • Responsibility for internal management of projects including quality, fee and health and safety matters. Qualifications & Experience:
    • Degree qualified in quantity surveying or other relevant construction related discipline.
    • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
    • Experience of compiling bid winning mini tender responses.
    • Experience of successfully delivering complex, high value, multi-disciplinary Highway related projects using the NEC / ECC form of contract.
    • Comfortable communicating with all levels of management, clients and stakeholders.
    • Have the necessary analytical skills required to make informed, balanced business decisions and reporting findings back to clients, colleagues and stakeholders. - Why Become an Arcadian?
