Certified Medical Coder Affinity Cardio Specialists (ACG) Clinic - Full Tim The Certified Medical Coder is responsible for assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-9 codes which supports the providers' documentation. This individual must assign codes within the legal coding guidelines. The CMC is required to enter charges coded and perform all needed research to ensure claims are filed timely in accordance with all billing requirements. CMC will work audit trails and file secondary claims. High school diploma or GED is required. Certification through AAPC required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician practice/healthcare setting preferred. Must have knowledge of basic medical terminology. Must have at least 1 year of experience in patient billing. Excellent computer, communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) a plus. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality as situation dictate is a must.
