Purpose: The Director of Compliance Analytics develops and
administers the Ethics & Compliance Data Analytics Program in
conjunction with internal staff, including Ethics & Compliance,
ITG, Legal, and Operations, and external expert consultants and
professionals, as needed. Using approved data sets, and technology,
software, algorithms, and other tools, the Director of Compliance
Analytics is responsible for examining data to answer questions,
identify trends, and extract insights in support of the Ethics &
Compliance function, to work with Compliance, Legal, and ITG staff
to identify and investigate material outliers and deviations in
data that may raise compliance concerns, and to help develop and
implement remedial actions, if necessary. This position must sit at
our office in Birmingham, Alabama This position offers a hybrid
schedule after a probationary period Responsibilities & Tasks:
Works with internal staff as needed to appropriately frame
analytical queries, answer operational questions, identify possible
trends, and otherwise support Ethics & Compliance department
initiatives. Identifies appropriate internal (e.g., Beacon data
warehouse, SAIGlobal incident management system, etc.) and external
(UDS data, PEPPER reports, etc.) data sets to support operational
need. Works with internal subject matter experts as needed to
develop suitable queries to ensure the analysis is relevant and
valuable. Exercises sound judgment in designing data extracts and
interpreting data output. Seeks to understand and considers data
attributes (e.g., data origin, limitations, context, etc.)
throughout the analysis process. Engages external consultants and
professionals when warranted. Employs accepted data analytic
principles and practices in executing the duties of the position.
Utilizes appropriate analytical techniques, statistical methods,
and other widely accepted industry standards to extract meaningful
insights from various data sets. Cleans and standardizes data as
needed and performs validity checks before and during analysis to
ensure data accuracy. Appropriately utilizes pattern analysis,
predictive modeling, forecasting, and other data techniques
depending on the circumstances. Seeks input from appropriate
individuals to ensure data under review is accurate, complete,
relevant, and timely. Develops accurate reports, dashboards,
spreadsheets, and other materials that are suitable for the
intended audiences. In conjunction with Ethics & Compliance and
Legal staff, implements appropriate data governance procedures that
include privacy considerations, disclosure protocols, and record
retention requirements. Immediately notifies Ethics & Compliance
leaders of material outliers and deviations in data that may
indicate broader compliance concerns. Maintains neutrality and
independence throughout the data analysis process. Works with
operational staff and other stakeholders as needed to help develop,
implement, offer insight on, and/or test proposed or executed
corrective actions. Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively
to complete assignments. Completes mandatory training and courses
required by completion date. Performs other duties as assigned, as
determined by the Chief or Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. License
or Certification: Data analytics certification preferred. Advanced
data analytics certification (CAP, CCA, SAS Certified) highly
preferred. Certification in Healthcare Compliance or other
applicable professional certification preferred. Minimum
Qualifications: Masters Degree in a relevant field (e.g., data
analytics, statistics, biostatistics, public health, public policy,
economics, etc.) with at least five (5) years experience in data
analysis required Healthcare experience preferred Bachelors Degree
with relevant data analytics certification required or Bachelors
degree with five (5) years experience in data analysis is required
