Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/26/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend schedule • Option for 4x12 schedule available • Float to like units as needed • Possible charge nurse responsibilities when required • Patient ratio of 1:6 for adults and geriatrics population • 30-bed medical surgical unit • Required to take 30-minute lunch break - no skipped meals allowed • Must adhere to strict call-in policy • 1 year of nursing experience required • Alabama nursing license required • Current BLS via AHA certification required • Fit test required • NIHSS certification preferred • Previous charge experience preferred • Level II trauma experience preferred • Travel experience preferred • Skills include: IV starts and maintenance, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, oxygen administration • Charting system experience required • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed • Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients.
