Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - Duration: 12 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Every other weekend schedule required • Float to Med/Surg units as needed • Patient ratios of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends • 2 years of nursing experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Alabama nursing license required • Required work settings experience: MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown • Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required • Must be able to start IVs and follow Heparin protocols • Manage cardiac drips without titration • Skills include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Use of Rapid Response/Code teams • Blood product administration and central line care/management • Peripheral line care/management and oxygen administration • Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE • Charting system experience required • Accepts first-time travelers • Local candidates considered within 60-mile radius • Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed Facility: This healthcare facility operates a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that provides intermediate-level care between intensive care and general medical/surgical units.
