Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
Level III Trauma Center Emergency Department position in
Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a
valid AL or compact RN license. Details - Work setting is a 54-bed,
state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
Emergency Department - ED serves all age groups and treats more
than 60,000 patients per year - Staffed by a multidisciplinary team
including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support
staff - Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma
patients to 1:3-4 for all other patients - Day shift: 7:00 AM –
7:00 PM - Every other weekend required - Holiday coverage required
- Floating to other units and hospitals is required - EMR: Meditech
(experience not required) Requirements - Active AL or compact RN
license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses
accepted - No hits (past or current) on RN license permitted -
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required - Minimum 2 years of RN
experience required, with at least 1 year of recent ED experience;
candidates with 18 months of total experience may be considered -
Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC, and NIH
Stroke Scale - SECURE on-site certification required - NURSYS
license verification required for consideration - Current driver's
license required - Two professional references from within the last
year required Additional Information - Solid navy scrubs required -
