What you will do
The Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center has built a
worldwide reputation for excellence in sports medicine, orthopaedic
patient care, research, education, and prevention. This
state-of-the-art surgical facility boasts 16 operating suites,
designed exclusively for orthopaedic surgeries which is a concept
pioneered by co-founder Dr. James R. Andrews. In addition, St.
Vincent's Birmingham is one of the first community hospitals to
have the da Vinci-- Surgical System robot.
As a Surgical Technologist with St. Vincent's, you will have the
opportunity to facilitate the safe and efficient performance of
* Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile
instruments and supplies.
* Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon
* Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping
* Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and
tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
* Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
* Preferred Credential(s):
* BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
* High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or
Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
* 6 months OR experience preferred
