McWane Inc. has a newly created division, McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI). This new division, based in Birmingham, AL, combines all Plant and Industrial Products in a single customer-focused package. We offer comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is easiest to do business with. We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants. We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, we will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure we are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades.

MPI ControllerPosition Summary
The Payroll Specialist is an integral part of the accounting/finance team. The Payroll Specialist will support the daily operations of the division payroll function. The Payroll Specialist will handle multiple state payroll to include monthly, semimonthly, and weekly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes for over 300 employees. They will partner with the accounting, human resources, to ensure best-in-class service to our teammates by providing timely and accurate information.Position Responsibilities
Support internal controls and operations to ensure that all payroll is timely and accurate.
Maintain knowledge of current policies and procedures within the department and company.
Investigate and respond to payroll inquiries.
Reconcile payroll reports.
Complete accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting.
Keep up to date on federal, state, and local guidelines relative to payroll reporting.
Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed.
Process and calculate employee garnishments, liens, and other withholding orders.
Basic Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from accredited college or university.
Minimum five (5) years of experience processing payroll for multiple states and distributions.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Experience in processing payroll in Ultipro or similar software.
Proven experience with 401k reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to deliver results while working in a team focused environment.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.Preferred Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years payroll experience in manufacturing environment.
