Accountabilities / ResponsibilitiesThe Operating Room Supervisor position will provide support to the facility by managing all aspects of nursing care delivery in the 3rd Floor Operating Room and Procedure Room. Specific daily tasks and duties for oversight include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities: Direct supervision of all 3rd Floor OR and Procedure Room teammates. Staffs and manages all aspects of Operating Room and Procedure Room functions. Responsible for all decontamination and sterilization of surgical instrumentation and equipment in department. Communicates clearly and proactively with surgeons, anesthesia services, administration, surgery scheduling, peer clinical leadership and own department teammates to assure clinical excellence in every case. Responsible for oversight of all Environmental and Terminal Cleaning in department. Communicates openly and proactively with Materials Management to assure appropriate and timely procurement of necessary supplies and equipment. Communicates with vendors representatives to assure their presence and/or delivery of necessary items in a timely fashion. Troubleshoots and proactively prepares all clinical equipment. Manages and maintains accurate and organized preference cards. Works closely with DON and CEO and other key team members to promote growth of the Surgery Center. Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Qualifications Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Alabama Required BSN strongly preferred, Two (2) to Five (5) years of nursing and Operating Room management experience in ambulatory surgery center or hospital is REQUIRED. 3-5 years OR (operating room) circulating experience REQUIRED. Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and organization skills MANDATORY. Knowledge of typical Operating Room equipment required. Computer experience, HST, Excel, Word, Power Point. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification. Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation or current PALS certification. Excellent organizational and communication skills MANDATORY.
