Job Description:

As directed by the physician, the technician provides diagnostic imaging of blood low in the legs by ultrasound, conducts scanning of the venous and arterial systems and performs studies of arterial pressure by plethysmography, according to established standards and practice. Performs lower venous and arterial studies Processes images for interpretation.# Assist in selection of equipment according to specifications Explains the exam process to patients.# Reviews a patient#s clinical history Operates ultrasound diagnostic equipment Maintains equipment and follows proper safety procedures Organize work area and maintains supplies Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served Types venous reports Graduate of an Ultrasound school or High School graduate/equivalent with one year experience of performing at least 600 venous and arterial ultrasounds. Registered preferred for Ultrasound Sonographer from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).## Registration in Radiology is required. Two years ultrasound experience in a hospital/outpatient setting.# Knowledge of ultrasound equipment. BLS by American Heart Association Required Knowledge of ultrasound diagnostic equipment
