Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Providing expertise in all phases of Project Management, from project scope development and initial engineering, through construction, to commission and start-up, specifically including plant design, machinery and equipment layouts, estimating, resourcing, scheduling, supervision, logistics, construction, preparing as-built drawings and cost and budget control.Ensuring that project objectives are met in an economical and timely manner and that applicable standards, procedures, and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required.Serving as a liaison between operations, maintenance, technical groups, and outside contractors.Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy, and raw materials.Capability of making free-hand and isometric drawings, and to read and interpret prepared drawings of various types, including blueprints and architectural, structural, piping, mechanical drawings.Making independent decisions on work methods and procedures within the project scope, while ensuring successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed-upon objectives.EDUCATION:Bachelors' degree in Quality Management, Process Engineering, or related field.In lieu of a bachelor's degree, consideration will be given to individuals with sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of and perform the duties of this position.WORK EXPERIENCE:8-10 years related experience in progressively responsible roles with experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility or chemical/fertilizer manufacturing environment.Applicants must have a minimum of 18 months in current position, and a "solid/satisfactory" or above performance rating.Previous experience in all phases of construction management, including general knowledge of all construction trades and visual inspection capabilities of all project-related activities.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong leadership, problem-solving, excellent verbal and writing communication, and analytical skills.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and project management skills including the ability to work against pressing deadlines.Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and AutoCAD.Ability to prioritize tasks and to work independently.Fundamental economic skills and attitude that drives decision-making from an economic point of view.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The use of a computer and phone - Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when pulling finished goods samples.Communicating with internal and external customers - must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.Mobility of arms - Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.Mobility inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, and supplies - must be able to move about the office space, stand for an extended period of time, reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Some travel may be required to various plant sites in the United States.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Work is routinely performed in an office environment as well as regular visits to our production plants and distribution warehouses which can have exposure to the natural elements.Noise levels are typically minimal in the office but can exceed normal threshold in the production plants and distribution warehouses.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:Must wear steel-toed boots, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.Recommended (area-specific): Respirator, Back brace, and safety suit, other.
