What You Will Do:
Supervise and coordinate unit staffing and
provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical
objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
What You Will Need:
- Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff
during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance
evaluations of staff.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distributes
patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate
patient care is given.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any
issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manages through
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development
and evaluating of staff.
Licensure / Certification /
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job
transfer date required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board
of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of experience required.
- Minimum of 3yrs of hospital-based L&D setting,
- Prior experience in full time or relief leadership role,
- Completion of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, and
- Passion for positive experience in patient environment
Preferred: ACLS, prior experience at St.
Vincent's Birmingham, BSN
