Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham is located downtown and it has
over 400 beds and provides space for many physician offices.
We are currently in a large renovation project to create more
patient rooms and waiting areas. St. Vincent’s provides care for
many patients within the downtown area and surrounding communities.
Known for our Birth Suites and Ortho Sports service line,

as the hospital of choice for many services and the hospital is
easy to get to from any location.

What You Will Do:
Direct development and implementation of
emergency services policies, procedures and strategy.
What You Will Need:
- Develop departmental goals, plans and standards.
- Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing,
including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and
continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
- Administer and evaluate all clinical activities including care
plan development, service level determination and complaint
Licensure / Certification /
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board
of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart
Association (AHA) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited
school/college of nursing required. Master's degree or combination
of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
- 5 years of experience required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
- 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Process improvement, EMS knowledge and
Emergency services experience is a plus!
