Manager in our Periop Care Surgical Dept!
Full-time; Monday- Friday
7am-4:30pm with flexibility needed / Exempt
The main OR at St. Vincent’s is a state-of-the-art surgical
facility boasts 16 operating suites and performs
45 – 50 procedures each day. Common surgical procedures include:
robotic, ENT, gynecological, neurological, vascular, open heart,
colorectal, plastic, and urology. While St. Vincent’s is not a
trauma hospital, it is one of the first community hospitals to have
the da Vinci® Surgical System robot.

What You Will Do:
Manage the daily operations of the assigned

- Develop specific departmental goals, standards and objectives
which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the
- Assess quality of patient care and coordinate patient care
services with patients, staff, physicians and other
- Manage staff relations including performance management, staff
satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee
processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student
- Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance,
departmental contracts and vendor relations. Maintain systems to
assure adequate levels of supplies and necessary equipment.
- Manage daily surgery schedule maintaining communication with
all disciplines involved.
- Plan and prioritize day-to-day activities of personnel. Adjust
staffing to compensate for emergency situations or increase or
decrease inpatient census.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Preferred Credential(s):
BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed
from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Central Service Tech credentialed from the International
Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical
Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or
Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
- 3 years of experience required.
- 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
BSN preferred; must have ACLS, PALS and
This position prefers at least 5 years of
surgical nursing experience. Must have previous PACU and/or
ICU experience. Must be computer literate and handle managing
50 plus associates. Will be managing SDS, PACU and PAT
