Registered Nurse (RN)
St. Vincent’s East – Trussville, AL
Full Time – Day shift – 7a to 7p. Associates are placed on a 4-week
rotation which does not change, allowing the associate to know well
in advance of their scheduled days. It is a 3/12-hour shift
position, working one weekend a month with a 7 day off stretch
either before or after their weekend.

Cardiac ICU (CICU) is a private 12- bed
unit that specializes in critical cardiac care for
patients. You will see extensive hemodynamic
monitoring, use of continuous bedside dialysis (CRRT), cardiac
assist devices (IABP, impella, external pace makers) and frequent
use of vasoactive medications. We also receive and care for TAVR
CICU specializes in Induced Hypothermia
care for cardiac patients. You will be trained to initiate,
maintain, and recover these patients.
On CICU, you will be trained to detect
medical issues before they become a problem, so that you can
respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently.
Our average nurse to patient ratio is 2:1
with some patients requiring 1:1 care such as our hypothermia

- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and
communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for
well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with
members of the healthcare team.
Licensure / Certification /
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed
from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or
job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart
Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date
or job transfer date required.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job
transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
