Financial Analyst II (Reporting)

Job Description:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of reports and data for internal and external use.  This position will support the Regional Banking Finance team which serves as an internal financial consultant to Regional Bank leadership. The financial analyst will be responsible for the creation, review and analysis of the Company’s financial statements, forecasts, and budgets. The analyst will be tasked with the development of reporting tools (dashboards, reports, etc.) designed to offer key insights to management. In this role, the analyst will serve as a trusted liaison to management which entails a commitment to continuous learning, rigorous attention to detail and a professional presence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and data feeds
  • Analyzes financial data for trends and anomalies
  • Drives the provision of timely, accurate, and reliable financial management information and the running and enhancement of reporting systems which facilitate the production of this management information
  • Supports financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, funds transfer pricing, profitability, interest rate risk and investment management
  • Assists in the maintenance and development of the systems used for various areas including reporting, forecasting, analysis, funds transfer pricing and profitability
  • Conducts research and analysis to provide management with definitive financial data
  • Participates in ad hoc financial projects as required
  • Maintains full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures, or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural expert
  • Develops collaborative partnerships within finance and across front-line business units
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two – five years of full-time experience in accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of relational databases
- Attention to detail, commitment to applying data to real-world business practices, and the curiosity and drive to improve existing processes are sought

Skills Needed

- Microsoft Office suite
- Enterprise Reporting software proficiency a plus. Examples: Business Objects, Everest, Hyperion Essbase
- Data management software proficiency a plus. Examples: Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Access
- Data Visualization proficiency a plus. Examples: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAS Visual Analytics, Qlikview

Other Skills and Competencies

- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of bank profitability. balance sheet, and related concepts
- Experience exploring, analyzing and extracting data using SQL, SAS Alteryx or similar
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and leverage relationships across both technical coworkers as well front line sales management
