Position Purpose:

Responsible for selecting product. A selector is required to select product to belt, box or pallet as directed, following all lifting requirements, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

Attends start up meeting at beginning of shift, receives assignments and as needed completes vehicle inspection sheet.

Only operate equipment that you are certified to operate.

Follow preferred methods

Select product in area assigned throughout the day.

Using PA system call out empty slots to forklift operator/replenisher.

Notates any discrepancies in inventory or missing slot tags and gives to Inventory Control or Supervisors.

Cuts and removes plastic from pallets as required in preferred methods

Verifies correct product is selected.

Removes empty pallets from home slot location and take to pallet staging.

Keeps area clean and debris out of work area, remove damage and take to damage area.

Selects in a safe and efficient manner.

Returns all equipment used to appropriate spot at the end of the shift.

Immediately informs a supervisor, or manager of any potential safety violations or violation of company policy.

Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

Must learn 3 jobs and go where work is assigned daily

Performance Measurements:

Selects correct product and maintains clean work area.

Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed.

Deadlines are met.

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED preferred

Required Knowledge:

Understanding of Safety guidelines, knowledge of PTL system, selection processes and procedures.

Experience:

Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities:

Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations.

Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding; subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations.

Able to read and communicate in English.
