The state-of-the-art Finley Center includes more than 83,000 square feet of uninterrupted multi-purpose space and Hoover RV Park features 170 pull-through spaces with utility hookups. The outdoor complex features five NCAA regulation-size baseball/softball fields, five multi-purpose fields suitable for NCAA regulation soccer, football, and lacrosse, 16 hard tennis courts, a playground, and splash pad. Hoover Met Complex is a member of the SFM Network, the nation's largest and fastest-growing network of sports facilities and is operated by the industry-leader in outsourced operations, Sports Facilities Management.POSITION SUMMARY:The Shift Lead Team Member supervises Ticket Sellers, Event Team, Guest Services, and Parking staff during events as well as distribute and collect, and count money banks and relieve staff for breaks. The team member is expected to provide excellent customer service to all guests and always display a vast amount of knowledge of the facility's programs and offerings.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Greet guests and provide answers and directions as needed
  • Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests
  • Be knowledgeable of all relevant event details and pricing
  • Process RV Park reservations as needed
  • Process payments (cash, check, and credit card)
  • Issue refunds as needed
  • Operate multi-line phones
  • Attempt to resolve all guest concerns and direct complaints to appropriate department manager
  • Know and enforce the facility's policies and procedures
  • Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by management
  • Open box office before event and/or close box office at end of event
  • Release staff based on number of people still attending the eventMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Accurate and precise cash handling skills
    • Experience coordinating and supervising staff
    • Able to work with a wide variety of ages from pre-school thru adult
    • Flexible work schedule (e.g. nights, weekends, holidays)
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
    • Must have excellent guest service skills
    • Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
    • Must be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders and fellow team members
    • Must work well with others
    • Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
    • Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of othersWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
      • Must be able to lift 20 lbs. waist high
      • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
      • Able to enter information on computers
      • Facility has intermittent noise
      • Must wear proper uniform
      • Must comply with safety and health code standardsREQUIRED:
        • Must be at least 21 years oldPREFERRED:
          • Have a basic understanding of sports and event planning
          • Cash handling experience
          • Customer service experience
