customers need it most. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be
responsible for the full circle of accounts payable functions for
the organization. This includes reviewing and auditing expense
reports, processing disbursement requests, performing payment
maintenance tasks, balancing and distributing policyholder
disbursement checks, and performing tasks within the company's
disbursement systems to support the operational
areas.Responsibilities
- Preparing, mailing, and distributing policyholder disbursements
checks including creating overnight packages, completing special
handling requests and responding to internal customers.
- Printing and distributing Vendor payments.
- Processing returned disbursement checks, responding to
inquiries and remailing of checks.
- Processing manual payment requests which includes reviewing
invoices and check requests, verifying documentation and approval
authority then uploading or keying into the AP system.
- Reviewing and auditing expense reimbursement requests for
receipts, IRS required documentation, and adherence to the
Corporate Travel policy.
- Processing void/stop payment requests, uncashed checks notices
and reissues in the company's disbursement systems.
- Performing tasks in the company's vendor invoice automation
system including assigning invoices for coding, reviewing
accounting errors, matching of PO invoices, reviewing payment
requests and other business rules as assigned.
- Serve as backup for other team members and other job duties as
assigned.Qualifications/Education
- High school education
- 5 years accounting experience in a business environment with at
least 2 years Accounts Payable experience. SAP or Vendor Automation
experience a plus.
- Accurate typing and data entry skills, working knowledge of PC
applications.
- Requires interpersonal skills sufficient for tactful frequent
exchange of information with user departments. Must have excellent
oral and written communication skills and strong customer service
skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to work under pressure and time constraints, excellent
organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage
multiple responsibilities and tasks and ability to perform high
volume of accurate work daily.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of accounts payable
procedures.Protective's targeted salary range for this position is
$40,000 to $47,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors,
including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience.
The range listed is just one component of Protective's total
compensation package for employees.This position also offers
additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive
based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash
compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).Employee
