Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

* Process all store returns. Good, useable product would be placed on pallets to return to stock in either warehouse. Cases would be taped or repaired in a state ready to be selected for the next customer.
* Close dated or out of date product would be separated as whether it could be sold as salvage or marked for pig farmer.
* Sign and date all pick up documents and return to inventory control coordinator for SOX recorded keeping.
* Pull salvage product using reports generated by Quality Control using the "pull date" column.
* Build stable, secure pallets with the pulled product and label with pallet number tag.
* Enter items pulled on excel spreadsheet itemizing by pallet.
* Pull any product to be salvaged as directed by buying department, inventory control department or by chargeback.
* Correctly fill out chargeback paperwork and return to inventory control coordinator.
* Update home slot quantities using telxon functions when removing product from the home slot.
* Make inventory adjustments in the system using the MW1K screen.
* Have knowledge of inventory control functions on the telxon.
* Transfer product to the 50RTV with telxon functions as directed by Quality Control.
* Run weekly reports on close dated perishable product to identify product that needs to be pulled using MW699 and MW697 reports.
* Run discontinued item reports (MW734) to identify discontinued items with inventory.
* Coordinate and load salvage pickups with salvage dealer.
* Communicate information as needed with inventory control, reclaim, Quality Control, buying department and warehouse supervision.
* Receive, understand and respond to emails regarding salvage product using good communication skills.
* Be able to safely operate forklift and pallet jack in conjunction with job duties.
* Other clerical duties as directed by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Working knowledge and experience, preferably in both mechanized and conventional warehousing, in picking and storage operations in dry grocery and perishable areas.
* Experience in operating all types of warehouse material handling equipment preferred.
* Knowledge of warehouse slotting system required.
* Possess ability to understand and interpret computer reports.
* General knowledge of EDP applications and computer capabilities helpful.
* Prior experience with personal computer applications preferred.
* Possess good oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the telephone with outside and Company personnel.
* Possess good math skills and figure aptitude.
* Must be available to work flexible or unusual hours as needed, including weekends.

Physical Environment

* Some work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment.
* Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
* Incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor, breaking down loads and lifting between 40 and 60 lbs on a daily basis.
* Potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
* Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment.
