Founded in 1974, Alabama Dynamics is a mid-to-large size
fabrication, machining, and paint shop located in Calera, Alabama.
We specialize in building custom equipment and parts for the steel,
oil, mining, minerals processing, pyro processing, and waterworks
industries. Our facility has a working area of 63,000 square feet
under craneway, with 10,500 additional square feet of indoor
storage. Maximum weight handled is 50 tons, and maximum size
handled is 15' wide by 60' length. We pride ourselves on delivering
quality products and service with every project we complete.

Reports to Shop Superintendent Description Alabama Dynamics Company
in Calera Alabama is seeking a Maintenance I team member to join
our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. This role
performs single, technical tasks and specific skill-based
competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of
the job include operating equipment used in the repair and
maintenance of electrical systems, planning and managing projects,
preparing and maintaining accurate records, adhering to safety
practices, and handling hazardous materials. Scope of
Responsibilities
- 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of
your team members.
- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and
healthy work environment.
- Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection,
respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and
eye protection.
- Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well
as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
- Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
- Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine
work assignments, material or equipment.
- Clean coolant tanks, grease and oil machinery; preventative
maintenance
- Works under limited supervision using standardized practices
and/or methods. Follows detailed job specific instructions to
ensures processes and procedures are followed in an efficient and
productive manner.
- Coordinates with supervisor, leads, and/or other trades to
completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work
orders to provide information for making decisions, taking
appropriate action and/or complying with health and building
regulations.
- Requests equipment and supplies for maintaining inventory and
ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary
installation and/or repair.
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies to
ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Communicates with Maintenance Planner, lead, and/or supervisor
to coordinate installations or repairs.
- Records production, repair, and machine maintenance
information.
- Works with the team to reduce / eliminate bottlenecks to reach
team goals.
- Works on continuous improvement projects. Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle
or feel objects, tools or controls.
- The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and
occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move
up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to
adjust focus and distinguish and determine color.

- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Electrical certification preferred
- 0-3 years demonstrated industrial maintenance experience
Position Requirements
- Standing, walking, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, and
sitting are some of the physical requirements.
- Must be able to meet and adhere physical requirements as well
as adhere to wearing the appropriate PPE (steel toed boots, safety
glasses, hearing protection and mask).
- Will be required to work in the following conditions: heat,
cold, noise, and vibration.
- Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
- Must have the ability to operate forklift or overhead
crane.
- Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending
on customer and company demands.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
- Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and
