Job DescriptionThe Hiller Companies, Inc., a national leader in
the fire protection and security industry, is hiring Fire Alarm
Technicians in Birmingham, AL. If you have relatable skills, we
will pay for your training to become certified in Fire Alarms to
advance your career into Fire Protection.Starting Pay -
$40,000-$65,000 depending on experience!Summary:The fire protection
industry is stable and lucrative, and if you have 2+ years working
in electronics, we'd like to talk with you about becoming certified
to work with us in Fire Alarms. Great career opportunity with a
company that's been in business over 100 years! Working with us as
a Fire Alarm Technician you will:
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Understand the "Scope of Work" for all projects, including
inspections, installations and repair
- Exhibit excellent customer service
- Complete vehicle reports in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate truck inventory
- Perform other duties assigned, including ongoing training
opportunitiesRequired Qualifications:
- 2+ years electrical experience, including installing rigid and
EMT conduit.
- Familiarity and experience with Fire Alarm installation,
inspection and repair a big plus.
- Knowledgeable of NFPA codes and standards.
- Electrical construction knowledge.
- Strong work ethic and integrity.
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook,
Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult
positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lift
equipment.
- Working knowledge of test equipment such as a digital
multimeter.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to
50lbs.Also:
- MUST have minimum high school diploma/GED
- MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean driving
record
- MUST obtain NICET or equivalent certification in first 6 months
of employment
- Ability to work full time hours, including overtime as
needed
- Availability to travel if needed, which may include nights and
weekends
