Job Summary: HVAC Control Systems Technician
Perform complex technical tasks in HVAC control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Program, troubleshoot, install, commission, and maintain HVAC control systems, including mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage components.
  • Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, as well as hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Provide technical support and repair services to customers through effective communication.
  • Recommend system repairs and updates, and assist in proposing recommendations to customers.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced technicians to build a career with a global organization.


    How You Will Achieve Success:

    • Load and configure Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
    • Perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices.
    • Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
    • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
    • Complete administrative tasks, including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
    • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
    • Participate in company-sponsored and personal training to maintain high levels of knowledge and capability.
    • Engage with customers to understand their systems and needs.
    • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
    • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.


      Requirements:

      • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.
      • Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
      • Able to use hand, power tools, and electrical testing equipment, such as a multi-meter.
      • Solid knowledge base in using personal computers.
      • Attention to detail.
      • Good communication and listening skills.
